Life Beyond Tourism

In 2021 the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź began cooperation with Life Beyond Tourism,
a movement initiated by Fondazione Romualdo Del Bianco, a non-profit organization from Florence which has been promoting intercultural dialogue for over 30 years.

The aim of the Life Beyond Tourism is to collaborate in cultural and educational initiatives to raise awareness, knowledge and communication of the cultural identity of sites, through the implementation of the Fondazione Romualdo Del Bianco’s “Life Beyond Tourism-Travel to Dialogue”® mindset, methodology and best practices, to foster local cohesive development and travelers-inclusive-communities for intercultural dialogue. The Foundation and its Movement cooperate with such international organizations as ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites), ICCROM (International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property), the UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organization), and UNESCO (United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization).

As a partner of the organization, the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź takes part in cultural initiatives such as exhibitions and conferences involving students and academic teachers.

The Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź is a partner in the Native Project.

Native is co-funded by the European Union’s “Creative Europe” programme. Its aim is to develop competence of designers in the design industry sector, as well as to facilitate the integration of creative knowledge and skills in the fashion industry in SMEs (small and medium-sized companies).
The City of Borås is the project leader and the project partners include the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź, the Italian city of Prato and the Catalan fashion cluster MODACC. Other members of ACTE (the European textile network) also take part in the event.
Within the framework of the project several young European designers are selected to create and produce their own collection through digital residencies at SMEs in the fashion sector.
Native enables the exchange of skills and experience, and promotes intercultural exchange.
